This is the tree that inspired the Speaking Australian logo. It is a Eucalypt down the end of our street in NW Sydney. It epitomizes ‘diversity through adversity’ and I think it coins the Aussie spirit very well. Even the fauna in this land uses adversity to adapt in an ever-changing way, so much so that Australia has twice as many species of flora and fauna than Europe.
